Region: North America - Troy Michigan
This position exists to support the growth of Viton® & Vamac® (V Solutions) in automotive markets in North America with particular focus on growth at Japanese OEMs and their suppliers. The Market Segment Leader will be responsible for analyzing markets and opportunities, developing effective strategies to achieve rapid and sustainable growth for V Solutions in automotive markets and implementing these strategies through a combination of strategic market management and downstream selling activities. The position is integrated within a global application teams network, and depending on the candidate potential, some global marketing initiatives could also fall under his / her responsibility.
Key responsibilities
Expert in the targeted markets and applications and the key contact point within the V Solutions business for OEMs and Tier suppliers, understanding the different technologies that can be used in those applications and leading the Market Team to providing innovative solutions to their needs.
Collect and analyze markets in transportation including market attractiveness evaluations, trends and legislation, regulatory issues, competitive benchmarking, value chain and key players/influencers assessment, also maintaining current outlooks on models, platforms, builds. He / she will be a generator of developments, based on identified and defined market needs
Develop and own marketing plans by segment and/or applications including product offering, recommended pricing, value proposition, positioning, messaging, target accounts and related sales tools.
The Market Segment Leader will also take an active, hands on role implementing the segment/application strategy established, managing key programs and promote V Solutions at OEMs, Tiers and key targeted players in the value chain, working with the sales team to implement strategy at direct accounts for the applications developed.
Educate and influence specifications, develop new opportunities and extend commercial success by identifying and building relationship with key decision makers at the most effective levels.
Act as a resource for the Account Teams sharing market information with selected accounts as well as acting as a liaison between target customers and key contacts in the industry to help develop V Solutions business.
Key member of the Americas V Solutions Marketing Team as well as an active member of the Global V Solutions Team sharing and leveraging regional market knowledge. As such he/she will keep the business updated on key threats and opportunities, and supports prioritization of applications and segments programs

Analytical skills and conceptual capacity: able to integrate and analyze market information and generate relevant recommendations and action plans to grow the business, integrating long-term and global perspectives.
BS degree in a technical, business or marketing discipline.
MBA a plus.
5+ years of successful market and/or business development experience including strategic market assessments and marketing plans, preferably in plastic/rubber industry - Application / Parts development experience in Automotive a plus
Natural interest in automobiles.
Sales experience a plus.
Demonstrated self-starter, driven, with ability to work independently and within a team in a matrix organization.
Proven experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.
Japanese language and culture knowledge a plus.
Communication skills: verbal and written communication particularly for the preparation of reports and presentation for internal and external use. Organization skills: able to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently and prioritize efforts Self Management: accepts accountability, results oriented, demonstrated personal initiative

Provides engineering/technical leadership to manufacturing operations for all electrical issues, especially in the areas of safety, instrumentation, power distribution, DCS and equipment. Leads improvements in electrical safety and reliability, instrumentation and DCS, through technology or equipment upgrades. Safeguards electrical safety of existing facilities. B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Five years experience in manufacturing plant operations (Class 1, Div. 2 experience preferred.)Understanding of Process Safety Management. Demonstrated strong electrical engineering capability. Demonstrated problem solving/analytical ability. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated champion of electrical safety, national/company codes and standards. Ability to work with mechanics.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the site Safety & Occupational Health, Fire Protection and Emergency Response, and PSM programs, providing direction on regulations, trends, and programs for S&OH and PSM issues.
Key responsibilities: Proactively seek the education and training necessary to stay updated of S&OH/PSM trends and requirements/changes in federal, state and local regulations. Communicate S&OH requirements to site, and lead site in developing, implementing and continuously improving S&OH/PSM programs and work processes. Lead a comprehensive S&OH/PSM 1st party audit process to assess site practices and drive corrective action and continuous improvement. Sponsor and actively participate in the site’s safety committee, promoting continuous improvement in S&OH/PSM awareness and programs. Maintain and communicate the appropriate S&OH and PSM metrics to site and corporate leadership. Actively participate in DPE/DuPont S&OH and PSM networks and 2nd party audit programs. Work with regulatory agencies, other companies, and the public as necessary to provide influence on issues relating to S&OH/PSM. Participate on local Community Advisory Panel and Near Neighbors meetings, and have periodic involvement with state and local agencies. Participate as needed in facility incident and injury investigation.
BS in Occupational Safety and Health (ABET accredited) or related discipline preferred.
Minimum 5 to 10 years of practical work experience in a Safety and Health and/or PSM function within a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of manufacturing/technical work processes.
Working knowledge of OSHA S&OH and PSM regulations, regulatory processes, and associated management systems.

Serve as the Statistical leader for the lean lean Six Sigma work process and the corporate expert on statistics as it applies to lean Six Sigma. Provide technical leadership for corporate lean Six Sigma implementation efforts.
Key Responsibilities: -Serve as the corporate expert on statistics and its application within lean Six Sigma. As the statistical leader for lean Six Sigma, provide strong support, education and guidance to the lean Six Sigma community on statistical analysis. -Serve as a resource to Black Belts who want to learn new statistical method to better apply the acquired lean Six Sigma tools. -Develop and deliver training for employees seeking Green Belt certification. Provide ongoing training for Black Belts. Teach lean Six Sigma strategies and tools to Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black Belts in the form of training and workshops (i.e., minitab, project databases, etc.). Continually develop and/or revise lean Six Sigma training materials to ensure applicability for the Company. -Assist management and Black Belts select, prioritize, and define projects in support of business goals and customer needs. -Consult the business in efforts to achieve lean Six Sigma Project success and improvements and to meet delivery goals. -Lead and facilitate lean Six Sigma work groups involved in the elimination of defects from existing processes, products, services, or plants by completing 1 - 2 projects per year. -Conduct discovery process for global business team and work processes. -Provide direction and mentoring to Black Belts in obtaining a thorough understanding of defined, measure, analyze, improve, and control (DMAIC) and defined, measure, develop, and validate (DMDV) methodologies. -Remove project barriers for Black Belts (i.e., primary data acquisition and data analysis) and assist Black Belts in problem solving deficiencies in project design. -Engage, interact, and serve as a resource to the organization in discussing the application of lean Six Sigma tools and resources (ad-hoc tasks, processes, projects). -Participate in the development and continuous improvement of lean Six Sigma principles and policies. -Execute lean Six Sigma project discovery process and provide business team training on the process and potential products. - Mentor Green and Black Belts. - Actively participate in the lean Six Sigma Decision Board, the Black Belt and Champion Networks.
Minimum 5-7 years of work experience highly desired.
Formal education in and/or demonstrated experience/application of statistics/statistical analysis or applied mathmatics is required.
BS degree in engineering, an applied science, or a discipline that involves competency in quantitative methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced mathematical problem solving method and statistical analysis in discovering solutions to business and process problems - Black Belt Certification - Minimum 10 years of work experience highly desired - Familiarity with the technical and manufacturing processes. Plant manufacturing experience is an advantage, but not required - Previous experience leading project teams and/or team activities. - Demonstrated ability to “learn the business” and become an expert in area of project focus. - Demonstrated ability to work with and through others at a variety of levels & positions in an organization. - Able to encourage others to think differently in resolving problems. - Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes and procedures. Comfortable using information technology to create and deliver training materials. - Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and/or train others. - Previous experience delivering classroom training helpful.

The person in this position will maximize revenue and/or contribution for the global chloroelastomers business by establishing and maintaining the global pricing strategy and managing the implementation of this strategy. This position requires that the person develop an indepth understanding of the Price-Value relationships across the applications, customers and regions where this business sells products.
This person will also increase revenue and or contribution through leadership of, and participation in, the process used for new business development programs underway in the chloroelastomers business. This person will play a key role in identifying, prioritizing and managing growth opportunties for this business.
PRICING MANAGER ROLE-Chloroelastomers - Develop understanding of current pricing situation by region and lead pricing processes to efficiently manage global pricing policies. - Utilize tools such as global price waterfall as a way to make and communicate pricing decisions. - Anticipate price trends and work with regional/global managers to respond proactively. - Identify and capitalize on short-term pricing opportunities. - Adjust offerings based on customers/segment perceived value. - Develop and maintain optimum list, target and floor prices to meet strategic objectives. - Adjust pricing targets to reflect customer value-in-use and price sensitivity. - Provide Account Managers the visibility of market pricing. - Take action against low-margin and unprofitable business.
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ROLE-Hypalon® - Manage the growth portfolio of short, medium and longer term customer/application/market development programs underway in the Hypalon business. Ensure discipline of updated summaries by project teams of each assigned project with key development checklist items addressed. - Primary Communicator to the Chloroelastomers Business Team on potential growth, probability and timing. - Serve as Leader of the Commercial Development Team (CDT). - Primary coordinator for other business development and commercial colleagues and technical partners. - Prepare clear analysis and summaries of growth opportunities to guide the Commercial Development Team and the assignment of resources.
Coordinate the efforts across Business Development/Technology to generate the marketing and technology packages needed to promote Hypalon in new market areas.
Educate and develop others within Chloroelastomers to foster an understanding of the development methodology.
BA/BS Degree- Business or Technical. 5-7 years experience in Sales/Marketing required; 7-10 years preferred. Experience with pricing policy establishment, negotiations, value extraction, evaluation of varies business scenarios. Ability to understand and reconcile internal needs with marketplace realities. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead/influence. Experience in Supply Chain desirable. Knowledge of DPE products and customers desirable. Advanced Excel and SAP skills desirable.
