Technical Service And Development Co-Op Program

With the guidance of a mentor, students work on critical DuPont Performance Elastomers Technical Service and Development projects. Upon graduation, students will have acquired more than a year of professional experience.

To be eligible for the program students must be chemical engineers or chemistry majors and have completed their sophomore year with at least a 3.0 GPA. Selected students begin their co-op experience following the completion of their sophomore year and work full-time during the summer until the fall semester begins. Upon completion of the fall semester, students return to the co-op for the Spring semester and return to school in the summer. During the 4th year, students work the fall semester, attend school in the spring and return to complete the co-op in the summer. For the 5th year, students attend school in the fall and spring and graduate at the end of the spring semester.

Each semester, students are assigned a different mentor. Some of the projects students work on include: fundamental polymer information; development of knowledge gaps for sponge and rheology; solubility parameter determination and various customer-specific projects.
