Ultra-Low Leak Packing System

Kalrez® Valve Stem Packing (KVSP) systems have proven to be good for business and the environment. When a valve's fugitive emission performance is critical, let DuPont Performance Elastomers' new Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer parts packing systems eliminate your emission problems and improve your process control. This packing concept will meet both today's and tomorrow's most stringent federal, state and local regulations and is compatible with all chemicals listed under the Clean Air Act.

  • This new packing technology is based on incorporating Kalrez® V-rings with DuPont Teflon® or DuPont Vespel® components, providing the No-Leak <1 ppm sealing capability for the systems
  • They provide a unique maintenance-free and self-adjusting packing alternative that uses live loading to energize the system and act as a volumetric compensator during temperature cycling. They typically can handle temperatures from -40 to 260°C (-40 to 500°F) and have been tested up to 6,000 psig.
  • The KVSP systems approach the performance of metal bellows with typical helium leak rates of 10(-6) to 10(-8) std. cc/sec. This translates into the extremely low leakage rates noted, to <1 ppm with no detectable leakage, monitoring to the EPA method 21 with a portable sniffer or OVA.

KVSP systems are now available for all valve types and designs in new cost-effective configurations.
