Kalrez® custom valve seal proven over 7 years in ink jet units
A spray technology leader required a custom designed shut-off valve seal for its ink jet equipment that would provide long-term resistance to aggressive cleaning solvents. Working with their Kalrez® Authorized Distributor, DPE's custom parts engineers responded very rapidly with a prototype with Kalrez® 7075 perfluoroelastomer parts for the ink jet application. In the seven years since first installed in the ink jet units, the Kalrez® valve seals have offered trouble-free service and excellent performance in the cleaning solvents used.

Kalrez® custom part resists aggressive electrolyte chemicals, prolongs battery life
A specialist battery assembly manufacturer asked DPE's Kalrez® custom parts engineers to solve a critical electrolyte sealing problem in batteries to power medical devices.

Rubber/steel stoppers are used to seal the battery units at the electrolyte filling station on the assembly line. Several rubber materials, including FKM, had been tried but failed to resist the aggressive chemicals used, causing air damage to the electrolytes, and potentially hazardous leakage.
The solution was replacement of FKM with Kalrez® 6190 custom parts made by proprietary DPE process that forms an excellent bond with the metal component. Since switching to Kalrez® in 2008, the battery stoppers have exhibited no degradation or leakage, thus prolonging safe battery life in this exacting medical device application.
