Murli Sukhwani was appointed Business Manager for Kalrez® parts in Europe, effective November 1, 2006. He succeeds Rudy van Engen who relocates to the DuPont Performance Elastomers headquarters in Wilmington, USA, to take up the new position of Global Business Manager, Kalrez® parts. Murli was previously Distributor Manager/Manager Strategic Initiatives, and has extensive experience in the core elastomers businesses at DPE.
I am excited to be taking over from Rudy van Engen at a time when the Kalrez® perfluoroelastomers parts business is exceeding expectations in all industry sectors and regions. That strong momentum underlines our technology leadership and continued commitment to our customers.
Through 2007, we expect to build on our global strengths as a customer focused, service oriented solution provider by targeting new markets and custom parts applications, and by bringing new products to market faster.
In this first e-newsletter, we review two very interesting case stories where Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer parts have solved critical sealing problems. Among other topics, we summarize the positive results of the global customer satisfaction survey DPE conducted in Q3 '06. In Europe, customers highlighted quality of parts, delivery reliability and technical representation among DPE's 10 most valued attributes. 2007 is also the 50th anniversary of Viton®, the world's first fluoroelastomer, and the birth of the fluoroelastomers industry.
On a sad note, it is with much regret that I have to announce that our colleague Norbert Bothe passed away suddenly in December. Norbert, who joined the Kalrez® parts business in 2000, was well known and respected in the industry. He will be sorely missed.
